Happenings, July 201631 Jul 2016, Posted by What's Happening in
July has been an exciting month for Benjamin Franklin. First, as always, the celebrations surrounding the 4th of July were special. On July 3, I appeared with Betsy Ross on the Fox News Channel to wish much of the nation a wonderful holiday. On the 4th, I appeared once again at Stenton, the home of Franklin’s mentor, James Logan, in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. In that fine old estate, with its lovely Georgian mansion, we celebrated the annual picnic with the neighbors and friends. It is always a special day. That same day, I had a great time with Quincy Farrell of Fox29 in Philadelphia, promoting Historic Philadelphia’s Tipplers’ Tour. All month long I have been in some special places as Benjamin Franklin, including Christ Church, the National Museum of American Jewish History, Independence Hall and Square, and Franklin Court. We continue to do the Independence After Hours programs in Independence Hall, and the Tipplers’ Tours around the historic area. This last full week of July it will be a pleasure to work with the Democratic National Committee in helping to host their 2016 convention.
Life is good for Ben Franklin, because he meets wonderful people from around the world every day.
