September 2014 Happenings

September has been a busy month for Benjamin Franklin.  I have been engaged in greeting corporate and foundation gatherings, including the Retina Society, the Board of Directors of the Hersha Hospitality Group, and many others.  I participated with Gen. George Washington in the Grand Opening of the new Welcome Gallery at the National Liberty Museum, and I encourage you to experience that wonderful facility.  I had the pleasure of joining fellow delegates James Wilson and George Mason at the National Constitution Center on Constitution Day.  I will be joining the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts next month for their Family Day.

One of the most rewarding things that I have done in quite some time was attending a seminar on James Logan and the Networks of Atlantic Culture and Politics for the latter part of last week.  It was enlightening to learn more about one of the great figures of American history, secretary to Wm. Penn, governor and magistrate of the early colony of Pennsylvania, and mentor to Benjamin Franklin.  The study of history is a never-ending project, and I was honored to be among some of the brightest scholars in this country….me, a lowly actor and student of history.

This just in!  I will begin shooting next week for the next presentation of Sam Katz’s History Making Production, focusing on Philadelphia in the eighteenth century.  I have been cast as Benjamin Franklin in his later years.  I am excited to be involved in this wonderful series.
